Civil Engineering Intern - Water Resources

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Civil Engineering Intern - Water Resources for employment in the Austin, Texas office. 

This position is expected to begin in May 2024.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform assignments requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
  • Perform assignments requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
  • Assist in the development and application of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analysis related to floodplain management studies and a variety of water resource projects.
  • Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Candidates must be currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Civil Engineering or a related field with the intent to continue after the internship unless graduating.
  • Candidates must have completed three years of study in their program.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of HEC-RAS, ArcGIS, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and concepts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
  • Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
  • The selected candidate must be available to work in Austin, TX on a scheduled basis.
  • Offered rate of compensation (Texas locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The hourly range for this position is $20.00 – $25.00/hr.
