Job Title: Employment Services Coordinator/Specialist

As we continue to expand our impact, we are seeking a dedicated Employment Services Coordinator/Specialist to join our team and play a pivotal role in helping individuals overcome obstacles and succeed in their careers.

Position Overview: The Employment Services Coordinator/Specialist will be responsible for implementing and coordinating programs aimed at preparing individuals for employment, addressing barriers to entry, and facilitating job placement. This position requires a compassionate and resourceful individual with a passion for helping others succeed. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals seeking to enter or re-enter the workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement career development programs to equip individuals with the skills, knowledge, and resources needed to succeed in the workforce.
  2. Provide one-on-one coaching and support to individuals facing barriers to employment, including but not limited to: lack of education or training, criminal backgrounds, disabilities, or other challenges.
  3. Conduct assessments to identify individuals' strengths, interests, and areas for growth, and develop personalized career plans accordingly.
  4. Coordinate job readiness workshops covering topics such as resume writing, interview skills, workplace etiquette, and job search strategies.
  5. Collaborate with community partners, educational institutions, and employers to identify job opportunities and establish pathways for job placement.
  6. Assist individuals with job applications, referrals, and follow-up support throughout the job search and application process.
  7. Provide ongoing support to individuals after job placement, including mentoring, coaching, and assistance with career advancement opportunities.
  8. Input and maintain accurate and timely records of program participants, activities, and outcomes for reporting and evaluation purposes.
  9. Draft internal and external reports required by funders.
  10. Stay informed about industry trends, labor market demands, and best practices in workforce development to enhance program effectiveness.
  11. Advocate for policies and initiatives that support workforce development and address systemic barriers to employment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Social Work, Counseling, Human Services, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in workforce development, career counseling, or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of barriers to employment and strategies for overcoming them, including familiarity with resources and support services.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to supporting individuals facing challenges in the workforce.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office and database management.
