Research Physical Scientist (Recent Graduate)

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Physical Sciences Laboratory (PSL) has an opening for a Research Physical Scientist in the Atmosphere-Ocean Processes and Predictability (AOPP) Division in Boulder, Colorado.

This position is part of the U.S. Federal Government's Recent Graduates Program.

As a Research Physical Scientist in the AOPP Division at PSL, you will perform the following duties:

  • Conduct research for regional ocean model simulations on High Performance Computing (HPC) architectures and conduct research and development of Earth system prediction systems, including the development of analysis and diagnostic toolboxes.
  • Collaborate with climate, ecosystem and social scientists and managers to translate coastal predictions to actionable information for climate-informed decisions.
  • Contribute to the delivery of regional ocean and earth system predictions and projections in support of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Climate Ecosystems and Fisheries Initiative (CEFI) and its broader stewardship and regulatory missions.
