Summer 2024 Marketing & Publicity Intern, Running Press

Program dates: June 3rd – August 9th (10 weeks)  

  

ON-SITE: This position will be based in our Philadelphia office two days per week on a hybrid schedule (virtually, Mondays & Tuesdays; in person, Wednesdays and Thursdays). Company laptop will be provided for the duration of the program.  

  

Weekly schedule: 28 hours per week, Monday - Thursday, 9:00am-5:00pm  

  

Pay rate: $16/hour  

  

As a Marketing/Publicity Intern at Running Press, you will have the opportunity to work closely with seasoned professionals and gain hands-on professional experience as you own day-to-day tasks, help with special projects, and attend departmental meetings.

Who you are:  

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel required
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok
  • Experience with graphic design and video creation/editing in Canva (preferred)
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Rigorous attention to detail

What you will learn:  

  • Reporting to the Marketing and Publicity Manger for Running Press Kids, execute one marketing-focused and one publicity-focused special project for the team from concept through end-of-campaign reporting.
  • Assist the larger marketing team by processing mailings, copywriting, assembling influencer mailings, developing A+ Content Detail briefs, and assisting with other tasks as needed.
  • Assist the larger publicity team by writing press releases, processing mailings, compiling pitch lists, and assisting with other tasks as needed.
  • Compile and distribute agendas for marketing and sales meetings.
  • Evaluate competitor data and identify new keyword opportunities.
  • Monitor e-retailer account sites to ensure book and author data are accurate.
  • Other administrative support as needed.
