DGA ASG Summer Internship- National Security, Defense, and Aerospace Practice

DGA ASG is accepting intern applications for the summer session 2024. The internship is based in Washington, DC.  We are seeking candidates with knowledge of foreign and domestic policy to work within our National Security, Defense, and Aerospace practice.

Responsibilities

Tasks will vary for individual intern positions, but all interns contribute to various activities, including, but not limited to:

  • In-depth research and analysis on key people, companies, institutions, and current events.
  • Drafting briefing memos, talking points, background materials, and press releases.
  • Assisting with administrative tasks, including, but not limited to the editing of documents, setting up for events, coordinating meetings, or assisting with operational needs.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Interns will have the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of activities that should expose them to the foreign and domestic policy decision-making processes and the interplay between governments, NGOs, businesses, and civil society.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing, or have recently completed, an undergraduate or graduate-level program.
  • Undergraduate applicants must be at least a rising junior or senior.
  • Must demonstrate strong research, analysis, and writing abilities.
  • Must be comfortable working in a team with multiple competing projects.
  • Must be able to balance assignments and shift priorities on short notice.
  • Demonstrated experience working independently and communicating upward.

Timeline of Internship

DGA ASG’s summer internship session will be from June 3, 2024 through August 16, 2024.

First Generation College Students

We encourage first generation college students or recent first-generation college graduates to apply for ASG’s intern program. Students who identify as first-generation college students or graduates typically come from a family where neither of their parents/guardians gained a four-year degree. In support of the First-Generation Program, ASG will pair our first-generation intern with mentors to provide additional support and enrichment opportunities during their internship semester.


Additional Details

  • All applicants must reside in the U.S. for the duration of the internship.
  • We accept Internship applications on a rolling basis until filled. 
  • The DGA ASG program is a paid internship.
