Sales Associate / Business Development Manager

THE COMPANY 

Shelter Growth Capital Partners is a real estate credit focused, SEC-registered investment manager dedicated to building and managing diversified portfolios of commercial and residential real estate related loan and security assets. The Firm manages approximately $1.2 billion of AUM across seven investment funds and separately managed accounts. Since inception the Firm has originated or acquired more than $14 billion residential or commercial mortgage loans.

Shelter Growth Capital and its related finance company, SG Capital Partners, were founded in 2015 by Dan Sparks, Kevin Gasvoda and Justin Mahoney. The three founders worked together at Goldman Sachs & Co. for over a decade prior to forming SGCP where both Dan and Kevin were partners. The Firm has 35 employees at its headquarters in Stamford, CT and over 100 employees at various locations throughout the US operating in its direct lending business. 

THE SALES ASSOCIATE / BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER ROLE 

We acquire newly originated, performing residential mortgage loans from originating partners throughout the US.  We have an experienced team of three relationship managers that are responsible for covering our 80 originating partners.   We are seeking a motivated person to join the team to support the relationship managers and interact directly with our clients. 

Approximately 25 of the firm's employees are in Stamford, CT however this position could be hybrid in Stamford (3 days/week) or entirely remote. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Counterparty Management 
    • Support various activities related to Client Onboarding, Client Trainings & Product Rollouts
    • Source and network new client relationships through traditional online, telephone and tradeshow face-to-face relationship building efforts
  • Business Analytics & Reporting  
    • Ongoing maintenance of SG’s Client Pipeline Management tools and reports
    • Support miscellaneous ad hoc data analytics (development and analysis) 
    • Present data and analyze trends, advancing solutions to increase volume
  • Marketing 
    • Help develop customized marketing materials  
    • Manage certain Client communications 
    • Organize and plan a variety of events and meetings at conferences

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Undergraduate degree and record of effort and achievement
  • Strong communication / sales skills
  • Any residential mortgage experience is a plus
  • Competence and comfort working with various software tools including Microsoft Office and (not required but nice) Salesforce
