Networking Field Engineering Intern
SUMMARY: The Networking Field Engineering Intern will work alongside the Technical Services team to gain hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure. You’ll collaborate with our seasoned network engineers, learn about network protocols, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to network optimization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge on MultiTech gateway, router, and sensor products.
- Assist in configuring and maintaining routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
- Monitor network performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Participate in network design discussions and propose solutions.
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues and resolve network-related problems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless network operations.
- Document network configurations, changes, best practices and assist with developing technical training.
- Report/recommend new features to engineering and product management for product improvement or for addressing product deficiencies.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, etc.).
- Familiarity with Cisco, Juniper, or other networking equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of networking architectures preferred.
- Must be diligent, hardworking, and quick to learn.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
