Digital Transformation and Operations Intern (Part-Time)

We are currently looking for an intern to join our Digital Transformation Team, primarily working with colleagues located in Germany. The ideal candidate will have flexibility to come onsite to our Westborough, MA office as needed, but will consider a fully remote opportunity for the right candidate. This is a part-time opportunity involving 15-20 hours per week. We are looking for someone available to work part-time on an ongoing basis, for an assignment lasting up to 1 year. 


 As a Transformation and Operations Intern, you will contribute to our mission by working with the teams responsible for transforming the Digital Unit into an agile Software Development Unit. 

 

Job Duties

Some potential tasks/projects could include:

  • Active participation in setting up the organizational design of the Digital Unit and embedding it into the Olympus corporate structure. This includes amongst others:
    • Designing and maintaining organizational charts,
    • Maintaining documents related to the Target Operating Model,
    • Managing global hiring operations.
  • Facilitating the Transformation roadmap.
  • Optimizing existing processes and identifying suitable measures to improve the workflow within the Digital Unit and between its interfaces.
  • Coordinating different processes with internal business partners.
  • Creating concise and appealing communication & presentation documents.
  • Coordinating, designing and owning various change and comms formats/measures.
  • Updating/creating overviews and action plans as well as status reports.

 

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Must be enrolled in a full time undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited 4-year institution.
  • Must complete sophomore year before the internship begins and graduate after the internship ends.
  • Preferred fields of study include Business Administration, Communication, Human Resources, Digital Innovation, Digital Transformation or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance academic and extracurricular commitments (i.e. work experience, clubs, volunteer activities, teams, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage dedicated projects.
  • Must not now or in the future require immigration-related sponsorship. **

Preferred:

  • Strong interest in digitalization, communication, organizational design and processes.
  • Very good communication and presentation skills.
  • Confident handling of Microsoft Office.
  • Fond of structuring and sustainably pursuing operational and project topics.
  • Enjoys working in global and intercultural teams.
  • Proactivity and determination.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize/execute multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and deadline-driven environment.
  • Interest in software development and existing development frameworks and methodologies.
