Work calendar days: 188 days plus a 15 day contract extension 

 

Duration of position: Ongoing

Pay for this position is determined by the Licensed Educator Salary Schedule based on years of experience and education. Range for position is $52,000 - $74,999 annually. 

  

This is a probationary position. However, PSD employees currently under a licensed contract may apply for this position if selected, will retain contract status. 

 
Must have a valid Colorado Educator's License with appropriate endorsement.

SUMMARY: 

Responsible for promoting the success of all students by assisting the principal with facilitating the development, articulation, and implementation of a clear vision of learning that is shared and supported by the school community. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

DESCRIPTION OF JOB TASKS 

1. Assist the principal(s) with: 

   a. Hiring of new teachers and office staff. 

   b. Planning and organization of a school-wide budget. 

   c. Planning and delivery of training and education for staff. 

   d. A variety of administrative tasks to assist in managing the site. 

2. Instruct students in appropriate behavior, supervise the behavior and well-being of students in all educational settings, and administer discipline when appropriate. 

3. Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of intervention programs that address the needs of all students. 

4. Develop, coordinate, and supervise school programs in collaboration with school staff and/or outside agencies. 

5. Support teachers to develop, plan, prepare, and implement course content, learning activities, and classroom materials and create a school environment which maximizes instructional opportunity. 

6. Monitor student growth and progress and maintain documentation pertinent to academic, social, and emotional progress and needs of students. 

7. Communicate students’ progress, needs, behavior/discipline issues, and eligibility with parents and other staff as needed. 

8. Collaborate: 

   a. With teachers, support personnel, administrators, and colleagues to enhance instruction and improve student outcomes. 

   b. With colleagues in team and building-based meetings and discussions. 

9. Demonstrate a commitment to: 

   a. Understand, appreciate, and make accommodations for student diversity. 

   b. Include and engage families in the student’s education. 

   c. Support all Poudre School District policies, procedures, and expectations. 

   d. Provide personal and professional excellence. 

10. Participate in: 

   a. Department, team, building, and district meetings and discussions. 

   b. Student and/or family conferences and other meetings. 

   c. Social, cultural, interscholastic, and extracurricular activities.

11. Attend work and arrive in a timely manner. 

12. Perform other duties as assigned. 

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSES: 

• Bachelor’s degree with proper teaching licensure program required.

• Experience instructing students in a classroom setting required. 

• Master’s degree preferred. 

• Leadership at school or district level preferred. 

• Criminal background check required for hire. 

• Valid Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsements required. 

• CPR and First Aid certifications encouraged.
