Intern - People Experiences

The Intern Experience:

The People Experiences Intern will focus on creating and managing the Rakuten International branded merchandise vendor RFP Insight and respective supported employee experience programs. This will entail auditing the Rakuten International scope of businesses for use case, to date service satisfaction, multi-vendor vetting and next step recommendations. This project will require experience across systemization, vendor relations, administrative and end user experience. Individual will work with diverse group of stakeholders across all levels of management and multiple departmental functions. Participate in People Experiences team meetings, provide perspective on team project discussions and support ad hoc employee engagement and culture initiatives (HQ initiatives, employee well-being, employee milestone rewards, and community support) as needed.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop project management plan and proposal for branded merchandise vendor, incorporating supported internal programs in collaboration with key People Experience team members 
  • Project management of RFP process with diverse group of internal stakeholders. 
  • Coordinate respective meetings and record findings with internal stakeholders and external service providers. 
  • Generate final project summary and informed proposal of vendor recommendations and existing, supported employee engagement program impact. 
  • Active involvement in People Experiences departmental collaboration and team initiatives. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong organizational skills (planning and prioritizing) and follow-through 

Able to quickly establish rapport at all levels of the organization 

Project management experience (Monday.com experience is a plus) 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

Ability to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment 

Critical thinker with interest in creative solutions 

Previous experience in working with branded merchandise vendors, HR-oriented and/or people engagement-oriented roles 

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Graduation date between December 2024 and June 2025 

Relevant major/area of study 

Minimum GPA of 3.2 

Relevant prior internship, work or volunteer experience (preferred) 

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Human Resources, Communications, Psychology or a related field

At the time of posting, Rakuten expects the hourly rate for this role will be between $25-30 per hour. Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location.
