The Position

Rightsline is looking for a energetic Market Development Associate with a background in Business to join our growing Sales team. The Associate Market Development role will develop and execute on market coverage strategies and prospecting programs, including direct prospect outreach and other communication programs.

The team members are responsible for identifying potential sales opportunities in our target markets, engaging target customers in multi-stage business discussions, and adeptly positioning Rightsline’s software products and services based on consultative analysis of each customer’s unique needs.

What you will do:

  • Directly impact Rightsline's top-line. Responsible for building and executing on RL market coverage and prospecting programs through collaboration with senior managers.
  • Actively define market coverage strategies for designated industries and execute on plan through direct and in-direct prospecting and marketing programs (direct prospect outreach/calling, email/letter campaigns, advertising, trade shows, etc.).
  • Coordinate and lead introductory discussions and meetings; engage in consultative discussions related to customer requirements; and facilitate initial software demonstrations.
  • Attend conferences and trade shows for purposes of spreading market awareness, gathering business intelligence and initiating relationships with potential customer or industry contacts.
  • Research and assess market potential for new solutions into existing or new market segments.
  • Occasional travel within North America.

 

What you will bring to the role:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a Market/Business Development role or in a Sales role required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field required.
  • Interest in the intellectual property licensing market.
  • Aptitude for positioning complex / high-value products or solutions.
  • Aptitude for structured and systematic market analysis and proactive prospecting.
  • Competitive strategy acumen and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication in English (including ability to present to senior audiences); aptitude for executive-level communication.
  • Additional European language(s) is a bonus, preferably French and/or German.

Our 5 Stage Recruitment Process

  1. Review - We review applications and screen based on a variety of criteria
  2. Phone - Candidates will be screened via a quick 20-minute Zoom meeting to discuss the role opportunity
  3. Interview - We will conduct 2-3 stages of interviews via Zoom
  4. Task - Finalists will complete a small task to show off their skills.
  5. Offer - We will make an offer to the candidate that we feel would excel most in the role.
