Supervisory Biologist/Plant Pathologist/Plant Geneticist
USDA Agricultural Research Service is currently recruiting for a Supervisory Biologist/Plant Pathologist/Plant Geneticist at Plant Introduction Research : USDA ARS in Ames, IA.
Duties:
- Provide guidance to software developers responsible for aspects of plant germplasm curatorial software tools.
- Prepare long- and short-range plans, mission statement, goals, and policies for development of a plant genetic research program.
- Oversee the greenhouse and field regeneration of seed at multiple locations in accordance with best management practices.
- Direct a research program related to applied research focused on plant genetic resource management and advances in phenotyping and genotyping of plant genetic resources.
- Lead the development of the annual budget plan, research project plans, annual reports, and other documentation.
- Coordinate numerous specific cooperative agreements, reimbursable grants, and other extramural or non-base funding.
Education: Biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR
Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
