Decision Analytics Associate

LOCATION: Chicago - Hybrid (2 days in Naperville office, 3 days remote)

Investor Group Services (IGS) invites undergraduates with a strong analytical skillset to apply for the Decision Analytics Associate role. This position will start in the Spring or Summer of 2024.

Investor Group Services (IGS) is a boutique consulting firm with a distinguished reputation, serving Private Equity companies and their portfolio companies. With over 20 years of experience, IGS specializes in due diligence, market dynamics analysis, competitive intelligence, and growth strategy development. We are rapidly expanding our service offerings to include Decision Analytics, a new service line leveraging big data analytics, machine learning, and AI-driven tools to drive strategic growth initiatives.
 

POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Decision Analytics Associate at IGS, you will play a pivotal role in using big data analytics to solve key strategic growth issues across a variety of industries. You will work closely with our Managing Director of Decision Analytics and collaborate with cross-functional project teams. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with senior leadership, tackle complex challenges, and contribute to the growth of both IGS and our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the planning, setup and overall execution of key consulting projects as assigned within the Decision Analytics team.
  • Design and build ML-based analytical models using tools such as SQL, R, Python, SAS, and/or other common analytical modeling languages. Leverage core visualization tools such as Power BI to deliver solutions to end users.
  • Conduct statistical analysis to support recommendations, including Regression, Cluster and Factor Analysis methodologies, Monte Carlo simulation, Decision Tree analysis, Time Series and Hypotheses Testing, etc.
  • Familiarity with leveraging geospatial tools such as ESRI to develop custom mapping solutions.
  • Ability to mine research and aggregate unstructured data to help build unique data sets required for report building.
  • Interpret data-driven insights and translate them into actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate with project teams to present findings and recommendations to senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • Experience with setting-up and working within large data analytics infrastructure, including Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, and/or Azure.
  • Proficiency in key programming languages, including SQL, R, and/or Python.
  • Strong statistical analytics skills.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a passion for solving strategic growth-related challenges.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, or Economics (preferred).
  • 0-2 years of work experience, preferably in data analytics, consulting, or a related field.
  • Permanent U.S. work authorization is required.
