Graduate Assistant – Office of Student Affairs

The Office of Student Affairs seeks a Graduate Assistant to assists with the administration of various systems for students within the Office of Student Affairs/Dean of Students.

 

• Assists with the implementation of the Community Standards system
• Serve as a hearing officer and facilitate informal resolution processes
• Serve as a low to mid-level case manager for the Student Support Network
• Assists with the retention of reports from Public Safety, Residence Life, faculty, and others in the Maxient data management system
• Compile weekly, monthly and annual data including but not limited to Student Affairs Assessment Program, Student Support Network, Documented Absence’s, student intake and departmental update
• Provide support for the day-to-day operations of the Office of Student Affairs
• Oversee the social media handles for the Office of Student Affairs
• Create, maintain and update content for the University websites
• Assist with the organization of MCPHS Commencement exercises
• Assist with the planning and execution of Office of Student Affairs programs and events
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Office of Student Affairs

Required:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Current graduate student who is pursuing a master’s degree in higher education and/or student affairs administration, education, counseling, or related field concurrently while in the position.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
• Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment

 

Physical Requirements:
• Sitting, manual dexterity, ability to move between offices and floors of buildings
• Ability to meet deadlines and perform well under pressure
• Ability to be physically in attendance at designated worksite during scheduled work hours and to work some evenings and weekends
• Normal range of vision and hearing (with or without correction)
• Ability to lift up to 5-10 lbs
