The Position:
Stargazing Support Team members report directly to Teton Skies’ owner and are responsible for helping our astronomers and photographers to execute world-class programs with the company’s clients. Support Team members are responsible for the transportation of gear and amenities, set-up and clean-up of the program sites, and for providing exceptional guest service support throughout the program. Most programs take place within Grand Teton National Park.

This is a salaried position with a part-time commitment in one of the country's most beautiful and iconic landscapes. In addition to a paycheck, team members can expect guest gratuities to supplement their compensation significantly.
 
Scheduling:
This is a part-time salaried position. Because our programming is weather-dependent, you are on-call for scheduled nights (typically 5 nights per week), however, the number of nights you actually work varies. The summer program season goes from June through mid October, with training in late May or early June. Continuation into winter season (December through March) is negotiable.
 
Sometimes our Support Team members are Juniors going into their Senior year. In this case we completely understand the need to return to school around the end of August, or whenever classes resume. Many of our Support Team members have returned as Astronomers once they have completed their degrees.
 
Duties:
  • Assist astronomers in executing world-class stargazing programs for guests of all ages, interests, and levels of knowledge
  • Set up and calibrate all equipment prior to the program’s start time, provide guest service support throughout the program’s duration, and pack and transport equipment after the program’s completion
  • Ensure that vehicles are clean and safe
  • Ensure that refreshments and other amenities are available to all guests
  • Ensure that equipment is charged, clean, and in working order
  • Provide exceptional guest service and communication at all times
  • Ensure that programs leave no trace by cleaning up all equipment, the site, etc
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong interest in astronomy and the night sky
  • Clear and engaging communication skills
  • Clean driving record
  • Ability to work independently and think on your feet to meet guest needs
 
Other Qualifications:
  • Experience with telescopes and other observing equipment
  • Experience in the Hospitality or Guest Services industry
  • Ability to work outside in a variety of weather conditions
  • Ability to safely lift 50 pounds or more
