Hourly Data Analyst II (JR-0000674)

Responsibilities

The Hourly Data Analyst II will work in the Public Health Information Group (PHIG) to assist with the implementation of opioid surveillance activities related to the Healing Communities Study (HCS). The incumbent will work as part of a team including subject matter experts to assist in obtaining and analyzing data from a variety of data sources including but not limited to death data, hospital discharge data, emergency department data. The incumbent will be responsible for assisting to conduct data quality checks, analyzing, reviewing data, and generating HCS indicators in the required template for reporting. The incumbent will conduct literature review for the identification of overdose and substance use disorder risk factors, participate in meetings related to the project and assist, as needed, in any surveillance and/or program evaluation strategies. Other appropriate related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a Master’s or Doctoral program in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, sociology, or other related fields.


Preferred Qualifications

Experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods, data collection, and using computer software such as SAS, Access PowerPoint, and Word and Excel for data analysis and summarizing results. Attention to detail. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience with graphics. Prior experience working/interning in a public health organization.

 

Conditions of Employment
Grant funded, hourly position expected to last through 03/31/2025. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.

Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.


This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting will be available.
