Engineering Technician

The Company 

Lenco Armored Vehicles in Pittsfield, MA is the leading designer and manufacturer of armored police vehicles for Law Enforcement Agencies and State Police and Sheriff’s Department SWAT teams. Lenco also manufactures armored military vehicles for International Police Forces, the US Army, US Navy, US Air Force and US Marines. Lenco armored vehicles are built on heavy-duty commercial truck chassis platforms. This allows for warranty covered repairs, maintenance service, and parts replacements on the vehicle chassis at any number of OEM dealers, truck centers and retail parts stores.

The Opportunity

The Engineering Technician is responsible for assisting the Design and Manufacturing Engineers in the implementation of design and engineering activities.

You will help with:

• Hands-on prototyping and testing of designed parts and accessories
• Welding and metal fabrication of prototypes
• Troubleshoot fitment issues and make recommendations for adjustments.
• Operate 3D printing and laser cutting machines
• Operate and run parts in the house machine shop
• Create and update SOPs for documentation of assembly and repair procedures
• 3D modeling of basic components

• Design new products and redesign existing parts for vehicles
• Assist with SolidWorks drawings and bill of materials

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years hands-on manufacturing experience, such as time at trade school or related curriculums at college. Welding and metal fabrication experience and knowledge of 3D printing and laser cutting machines are a plus.

Compensation and Applicant Instructions 

Work hours are 7:00am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday. This opportunity is fully in-person in Pittsfield, MA.
