Network Engineer

SimVentions, consistently voted one Virginia's Best Places to Work, is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to work on a Navy tactical Electronic Warfare system that integrates with the full suite of combat sensors. SimVentions is looking for engineers with pertinent experience to be part of a team that supports the US Navy’s focus on integrating surface Electronic Warfare systems with the overall Combat System networks.

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide technical expertise and assist with network integration and consolidation efforts across multiple systems environments
  • Addresses and resolves technical problems of moderate complexity relating to the installation and upgrade of network hardware and systems
  • The Systems Engineer will provide system engineering and design for Naval EW sensors and systems
  • Responsible for applying engineering skills in the technical planning, systems integration, verification and validation, cost and risk and supportability and effectiveness analyses for complex solutions or products
  • Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, and detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into technical solutions and continuously validate those solutions through delivery
  • Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
  • Interact at the highest levels with client engineers and customers
  • Coordinate and technically consult with projects engineers

Requirements: 

  • Hands on experience with the implementation and use of network monitoring, fault management and performance analysis tools
  • Familiarity with data center infrastructure and experience with Cisco routers and switches
  • Experience with network security concepts, best practices and technologies including, but not limited to, SSH, IPSec, TACACs, firewall policies and 802.1x
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Skills & Experience: 

  • Familiarization with Surface Naval EW programs

Education:  Bachelors degree, and 5 or more years of experience, or equivalent relevant work experience

Clearance: An active Secret Clearance is required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.

Travel: 25% (Washington DC - Moorestown, NJ - Syracuse, NY - Baltimore, MD)
