Development Manager
The Democratic National Committee is hiring a Development Manager to help cultivate mid-tier donors. The Development Manager will report to the Director of Direct Marketing within the DNC’s Mobilization team.
What You'll Do: Responsibilities
- Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with a group of mid-tier grassroots donors who are giving gifts of $1000+/year, serving as the main point of contact for any needs or information requested by donors;
- Be responsible for directly soliciting gifts from supporters via phone, email, and other channels;
- Develop and implement fundraising campaigns and strategies to engage supporters and increase donor participation;
- Set fundraising targets and develop action plans to achieve them;
- Work with our mid-tier telemarketing vendors to optimize how we’re communicating with these donors and managing the relationships with these vendors;
- Coordinate with the Donor Cultivation team to develop and implement engagement strategies for these donors;
- Other duties as assigned to support the department and the DNC’s mission.
About You: Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience in political or non-profit fundraising.
- Strong understanding of fundraising principles, techniques, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; you love speaking with supporters on the phone.
- You’re able to sift through data and are comfortable with donor databases.
- Demonstrated ability in building and maintaining relationships with donors on a 1:1 basis.
- Deep understanding of the Democratic Party and commitment to reelecting Joe Biden.
The starting salary for the Development Manager position is $65,000 on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
This is a full-time, exempt position that may require work on weekends, and has an end date of November 15, 2024. This position is in the bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local-500.
