Research Technician - Stowers Lab

POSITION TITLE:  Research Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:

Join the Stowers Lab, where you'll play a pivotal role as a Research Technician. Engage in a diverse range of scientific tasks, from meticulously preparing test specimens to adeptly operating standard lab equipment. You'll receive training from senior lab members to assist and conduct experiments aimed at understanding how the brain influences social behavior in mice. You'll also learn data analysis techniques and assist in presenting findings. Projects can be tailored to suit both repetitive and non-repetitive tasks. Additionally, you'll receive training in various routine scientific tasks such as histology, immunostaining, ELIZA, hormone analysis, mouse behavior assays, in vivo neural imaging, PCR, and fiber photometry. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Faithfully follow established protocols.
  • Trouble-shoot as necessary.
  • Data acquisition, analysis, and presentation.
  • Communication findings to other team members.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline and up to one (1) year of related experience.  
  • Three (3) to six (6) years of related laboratory experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. 

COMPENSATION:

The expected hiring range for this position is $18.67 to $24 per hour, commensurate with experience. Consideration will be given to experience that exceeds the listed requirements.
