Lab Assistant I

POSITION TITLE:  Lab Assistant I

POSITION SUMMARY: 
The Wu Lab is looking for a Lab Assistant! Join our team conducting research on DNA double-strand break repair mechanisms in mammalian cells. Under supervision, you'll conduct a wide array of standard laboratory procedures, analyze data, and troubleshoot methods as needed. You may also assist in experiment design, lab maintenance, and other related tasks. This role offers a chance to contribute significantly and enhance your skills in a stimulating environment. Responsibilities include basic biochemical analyses, plasmid, tissue, or gel preparation, and spectrometry. You'll also support general lab functions such as glassware washing, autoclaving, and preparation of media and buffers.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Glassware washing
  • Autoclaving
  • Media, solution, and buffer prep
  • Replenishes supplies
  • Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required or assigned  

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skill and abilities have been attained and a minimum of 1+ years of related experience. 
  • or Associate degree, (scientific discipline) and (0-1 year), previous related experience required.

 COMPENSATION:

The expected hiring range for this position is $16.30 to $19 per hour, commensurate with experience. Consideration will be given to experience that exceeds the listed requirements.
