Job Summary

This position serves as the day-to-day operations lead for Minnesota Green Corps, a major nonregulatory assistance program. This position leads planning for annual program operations, including leading substantial member and host site supervisor support activities. The incumbent leads development and delivery of member and host site supervisor trainings throughout the service year for more than 120 individuals. This position oversees member benefits (e.g., healthcare insurance) as well as full compliance AmeriCorps-required criminal history checks of members and others.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, environmental, planning or public policy field AND two years of professional experience that includes experience in program administration (including management, analysis, monitoring, and evaluation), training planning and implementation, data management, and coaching or otherwise supporting partner organizations and/or clients.

OR

Three years of professional experience that includes experience in program administration (including management, analysis, monitoring, and evaluation), training planning and implementation, data management, and coaching or otherwise supporting partner organizations and/or clients.

Project management experience handling multiple tasks and deadlines.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience communicating and collaborating with others in a work environment.

Problem solving, planning, organizational, and computer skills.

Possess a valid Driver's license (see additional requirements).

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency will not sponsor applicants for work visas. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with AmeriCorps programming.

Experience with state agency and/or local government environmental programs and policies sufficient to provide effective support to partner host sites including state and local governments, tribal nations, educational institutions, and nonprofits.

Ability to understand and apply AmeriCorps regulations, methods, and practices.

Knowledge of the environmental sciences and/or federal, state, and local environmental programs gained by education or experience.

Experience working on projects involving quality assurance and data management.

Ability to summarize technical information into documents and presentations.

Ability to plan, develop, and present training on a range of topics using a variety of tools and methodologies.

Ability to assess training needs and priorities and to receive and translate feedback received about training into actionable strategies and recommendations.

Demonstrated meeting facilitation experience.

Physical Requirements

Requires occasionally lifting and/or carrying. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.

Additional Requirements

A driver’s license is an essential function of this position. This requires possession of an unrestricted Class D Driver’s License. The job offer is contingent on confirmation of a valid driver’s license AND a satisfactory DLR check.

Requires a Class D driver´s License: a single unit vehicle with a gross vehicle weight of less than 26,000 pounds. This is a basic driver’s license. Operators may also tow vehicles/trailers as long as the gross combination weight does not exceed 26,000 pounds.
