Hourly Project Assistant II (JR-0000683)

Responsibilities 

Health Research, Inc. is seeking an Hourly Project Assistant II to work full time (37.5 hours/week) from approximately May 2024 through August 2024 and will work in project teams with Center for Environmental Health technical experts and Outreach and Education Staff to support the following projects: 

  • Develop webpage content on injury prevention topics such as fall prevention, bicycle safety, and sports-related head injuries and updating content in HTML software.
  • Identify audiences and develop additional content about injury prevention topics.
  • Help staff and support Hudson River Fish Advisory program and events to share information about the health benefits and risks of eating sport-caught fish.
  • Conduct data entry and literature review efforts in support ongoing educational research projects.

The hourly will work with a group of health educators that support communication projects for the multitude of programs in the Center. This position provides a mix of office and field work and with telecommuting up to 50%/pay period when not staffing events. There will be opportunities for some overnight travel as well. 

 

Minimum Qualifications 

Undergraduate student currently enrolled in a Public Health or Environmental Health program; OR a Graduate student currently enrolled in a Public Health or Environmental Health Program.  

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • At least one year of experience or undergraduate degree in health communications, journalism or graphic design.
  • Strong and creative communication skills including experience developing both written content and supporting graphics.
  • Experience conducting literature reviews in support of research projects.
  • Experience with html coding and graphic design software, such as Adobe Creative Suites InDesign, Photoshop, and Dreamweaver and MS Office Suite.
  • Second language speaker.
  • Demonstrated interest in learning more about anglers and health and safety issues around sport caught fish.

Conditions of Employment
Grant funded, hourly position expected to last through 08/15/2024. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.

Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Travel, 25-50% of the time, will be required. A valid driver's license in good standing is required.


This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting will be available.
