Restoration Supervisor II

Overview

RES is currently looking for a Restoration Supervisor II professional. This position will be assigned to the project in Medora, ND and Dickinson, ND.

 

The mission: This position is approximately 10% at the RES field office, 90% in the field. The primary function of the Restoration Supervisor II is to complete restoration work in the field and supervise Restoration Technicians. 

What your day-to-day might look like?

 

  • Developing work and safety plans, submitting certifications, and coordinating logistics for mobilization of field work 
  • Supervise a small staff throughout the duration of the project in addition to coordinating and managing large teams of technicians and subcontractors during peak labor periods
  • Completes work in the field, which includes all aspects of restoration work such as planting, seeding, erosion control methods, brush cutting, prescribed burning, herbicide application, field repairs and many other tasks.
  • Supervises Restoration Technicians in the completion of the work listed above. This includes assigning tasks to specific employees, coordinating tasks for maximum efficiency, judging competence and abilities of individual employees, ensuring safety, and training employees to do specific tasks. It also includes educating new employees on company procedures and policies.
  • Maintains project records including Herbicide Application Data Forms, Post Burn Site Data Forms. This includes recording work complete and not complete on forms provided, turning in all paperwork after work is complete and communicating with the Project Directors/Managers to understand what work is to be billed.
  • Submit all required paperwork in a timely fashion including but not limited to safety, timesheets, expenses and other as needed.
  • Communicates with the customer, designer, engineer, owner, and general contractor regarding project status, schedules, and needs. 
  • Maintains equipment logs, report, document and coordinate equipment and vehicle repairs with relevant personnel.
  • Coordinates and communicates with other company Project Directors/Managers to understand project goals.
  • Monitors growth and development of crew employees.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervises 3 to 10 employees in Contracting
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to travel from home location up to 75% of the time
  • Ability to attain Federal Medical Card for DOT driving
  • Ability to have or earn the Pesticide License for North Dakota
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
