R&D - Formulations Intern

Roles and responsibilities: 

The formulations intern will work closely with Research Scientists to improve the current pipeline of Highlight products. The intern will gain exposure to the product development process and inner workings of a startup company. Tasks may involve but are not limited to: 
1. Instrumental analysis and test methods via UV/vis spectrophotometry, titrations, colorimetry 
2. Supporting the development and optimization of formulations 
3. Accelerated stability testing  
 

The intern will be responsible for: 

• Performing experiments and analyzing data in a timely manner 
• Keeping an organized and detailed notebook 
   

Skills and experience: 
1. Proficiency in chemistry required (understanding of surfactants or catalysis highly preferred) 
2. Prior lab experience or prior related formulations internship/work experience highly preferred
3. Strong analytical, critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills required
4. Overall proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word required 
5. Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic startup environment


Education requirements: 
Current student in chemistry or chemical engineering; 
Must have finished Junior year; graduate student preferred  

Job type: 
This will be a paid summer internship. Summer internships will last 10 weeks. Candidates are expected to work 40 hours/week and the position requires working on-site.
