Multimedia Intern

Foreign Policy (FP) is recruiting a summer multimedia intern. The intern will assist with social media, podcasts, and FP Live, our forum for live journalism. Previous audio and/or video experience is a plus.

We are a collaborative team; candidates should work well with others and be committed to FP’s mission—explaining Washington to the world, and the world to Americans.

This is a part-time paid internship, with a preference for candidates based in Washington, D.C., or New York, although remote applicants will be considered.

Previous Foreign Policy interns have gone on to full-time roles at prestigious media organizations around the world. This is a terrific opportunity to learn more about journalism, geopolitics, and cutting-edge new media. Successful candidates will be passionate, curious, and collaborative.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated interest in journalism, social media, podcasts, and/or video
  • Solid understanding of international relations and politics
  • Enrolled in or recently graduated from a bachelor's or master's program

We will read applications on a rolling basis.

About Foreign Policy

Foreign Policy is a global affairs magazine and website. Founded in 1970, its editors set out to create a platform for alternative views about American foreign policy in a way that was “serious but not scholarly, lively but not glib.” Today, FP continues to be serious, lively, and non-partisan but also global and diverse. It is a forum for new ideas and debate on international politics and economics, drawing on a team of in-house reporters as well as writers who are experts or practitioners of foreign policy and based around the world. FP has also grown to include podcasts, live audio and video journalism, research and analytics, and events.

Foreign Policy is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to an inclusive environment for all employees and contractors. All hiring is decided on the basis of qualifications, merit, and business need.
