Labor Relations Specialist
The Labor Relations Division at the Department of Human Resources (DHR) has an immediate opening for a skilled Labor Relations professional to join our dynamic team.
As part of this team, you will perform a wide variety of labor relations and personnel administration functions including, but not limited to:
- Collective bargaining
- Labor contract administration and interpretation for multiple collective bargaining agreements covering State employees
- Provide consultation, education, leadership, and technical expertise on labor relations and personnel administration issues to appointees, managers, supervisors, human resources staff, union representatives, and employees
- Administration of the grievance resolution process
- Develop, and administer personnel policies and procedures
- Administration of other related programs such as ADA, workforce equity and diversity, and affirmative action initiatives
This position requires a high degree of professionalism, motivation, decision making and customer service skills to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships in potentially stressful situations. In addition to day-to-day labor relations duties, you may provide leadership and guidance to a small staff of professional level employees. Qualified candidates will have a strong foundation in Human Resources with experience in labor/employee relations or labor contract negotiation and/or administration, and or experience administering labor and employment laws and regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in labor/employee relations.
