Millie Group is the emerging player in the online tutoring and university admissions support marketplace. Their focus is providing services to the global community of six million (and growing) international school students, either directly or in partnership with their school counselors. 

Co-founders Jenna Ahn, Giuseppe Iademarco and Ariel Lau have a fierce belief that no matter where in the world students are based, they should be able to apply for universities in any other country with ease. 

Their portfolio ranges from entry level essay writing to customized one-to-one programs, with every program delivered by their empathetic team of mentors and underpinned through a smart app, which work together to keep students on track with their goals.

About the position
 

Working closely with Millie’s co-founder and Global Head Counselor Ariel Lau, you will be responsible for supporting international students to successfully complete important school deliverables and prepare critical tests and exams.
 

As a freelancer, you will be able to accept students on a case-by-case basis, depending on your time zone, capacity, and lifestyle.

About you

Apply to become an academic mentor if you are:

ACADEMIC: you are passionate about education and enjoy teaching SAT English.

COMMUNICATIVE: you quickly adapt to new communications tools and multi-way communication (across our online platforms, google calendar, email, zoom for video sessions, etc.) and are willing to engage with your students outside of formal sessions (on WhatsApp or WeChat  – you name it!) 

THOROUGH: you have strong attention to detail and are meticulous across each task when delivering our programs.  You have a relentless focus on not making mistakes that might be costly to the students

PROFESSIONAL: when facing clients and key stakeholders, and in the way you conduct your work on a daily basis, you adhere to the highest standards of integrity and trustworthiness.
 

TECH-SAVVY: you own a tablet PC to be able to draw and explain concepts (except for Language and Psych)
 

Qualifications

• Strong academic credentials from a leading university
• Tutoring experience OR scored in the 95th percentile or above in the SAT
• Upskilled yourself to the format and questions types of newly launched Digital SAT OR relevant tutoring experience on paper SAT and strong willingness to upskill yourself 
• Familiarity with ACT (an alternative to SAT) and tutoring experience on it is a PLUS
• Having worked abroad, or attended university in a country other than your own, or gone to an international high school, is ideal
