University Facilities Environment, Health and Safety seeks a Safety Engineer to oversee and coordinate critical safety programs and safety training activities for the entire university.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assist senior management, supervisors, and workers on various health & safety related issues.
  • Actively identify areas of risk and work towards their resolution.
  • Maintain consistent and regular visibility and involvement with daily operations, providing regular site visits and feedback related to worksite observations.
  • Create and maintain policies and procedures for critical safety programs.
  • Provide field collection of measurements and other data related to workplace conditions and issue reports which analyze the health & safety risks.
  • Respond to requests for information, questions or assistance on safety-related issues, equipment, and training.
  • Provide response for routine as well as emergency problems.
  • Attend meetings and committee functions as applicable.
