Development Coordinator

The Development Coordinator will provide high-level development and project management support to the UF College of Health & Human Performance development team.  Reporting to the Senior Director of Advancement, this position will plan, direct and execute several complex and integral programs and initiatives that help foster philanthropy and steward donors. The incumbent must have the ability to coordinate multiple projects at a high-level of performance, accuracy and speed. For a full list of duties and responsibilities, please click here

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Experience in development, fundraising, alumni relations or higher education.
  • Ability to draft correspondence efficiently with excellent use of the English language, excellent proofreading and editing skills.
  • Meeting deadlines and managing multiple priorities are highly desired skills for this position.
  • Excellent organizational skills; demonstrated skill to work on projects with competing deadlines and to establish goals and workload priorities.
  • Strong administrative and project management skills.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse constituencies, meet deadlines, be self-motivated, and work independently.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail and a customer service- oriented attitude.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and as a team player.
  • Competency in problem solving.
  • The ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments, organize files, and other records independently.
  • Ability to manage projects while handling multiple other tasks, calls and visitors expeditiously and courteously.
  • Ability to be an outstanding communicator and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; interpersonal skills, and to work collegially and interact effectively with a diverse constituency.
  • An appreciation for and support of diversity in the workplace in all its forms; proven success working with stakeholders; project management skills; experience in a data-driven environment; organizational skills; and the ability to lead, influence and motivate others are desired.
  • Understanding of professional fundraising operations and ethics.
  • Experience in sales, event planning, and/or alumni outreach helpful.
  • Experience in database management and prospect research desirable.
  • Working knowledge in these areas:  Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel,
  • Microsoft Access, internet browsers, preferably Internet Explorer, email.  Working knowledge of a donor database, contact management and tracking system.
  • A valid driver license and good driving record are essential.*

Normal working hours:  Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm; after-hours work may be required.
