About

Spinnaker Life Sciences Strategy Consulting partners with Pharmaceutical, Biotech, and Medical Device companies to support our clients' strategy development (corporate, portfolio, product, partnership), and tactical execution to achieve the desired product development goals. Spinnaker also has a venture capital arm with focus on early-stage investments in the digital health and health tech space. Spinnaker’s founders have supported nine of the top 15 global pharmaceutical companies and work with many smaller to mid-size life sciences companies. Together, the team has developed over 125 life sciences products across 50 therapeutic areas in the United States and helped companies raise over $200M in outside capital in the last three years.

Candidate Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in the life sciences and healthcare fields, with an expected graduation date in January or May 2025.
  • Demonstrated interest in the healthcare and life science industry, with emphasis on the business side of the industry.
  • Candidates are expected to be collaborative, open-minded, and empathetic.
  • Able to self-start and self-manage.
  • Has drive to help create and grow in a young, but innovative company.
  • Comfortable tackling new problems in a strategic and efficient manner.
  • Possess strong quantitative and written/verbal communication skills, including above-average proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.

Position Responsibilities

Our internship program is fluid in nature, allowing you to design and explore the business side of healthcare and life science any way you would like.

  • Support teams as the analytical and/or project lead on various engagements.
  • Leverage quantitative/qualitative data to develop accurate hypotheses, insights, and recommendations for clients.
  • Manage time and client deliverables effectively with regular communication to senior management.
  • Carve out an area where you become the expert in a segment within the digital health and health tech space for our venture work. Conduct market research, deal sourcing, and due diligence with startups.
  • Support business development activities (e.g. participate in new business proposals, white papers, case studies, speaking events, etc.).
