As a Income Tax & Withholding Systems Leadworker in the Income Tax and Withholding Division, you will collaborate with management, business system users, coordinators, and developers across the division and department to maintain business needs in our internal systems. You will engage with others to problem solve system issues and develop innovative solutions. 

You will lead and support a unit dedicated to providing system support for Individual Income Tax, Property Tax Refund, and Withholding Tax. Additionally, you will lead and participate on agency and division wide projects, committees, and task forces. You will excel in this position by demonstrating excellent communication skills, problem solving skills, process improvement skills, and a passion for learning. 

Teleworking employees are required to live in Minnesota or in a state bordering Minnesota.

Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Four (4) years* of professional experience in performing business analysis or project management functions.

*A bachelor's degree in business management, Project Management, Information Technology, or related field may substitute one (1) year of the required professional experience and a master's degree as described above may substitute18 months of required experience. 

Additionally, successful candidates must possess the following which may be assessed further during the interview process: 

  • Experience working as a project leader or lead worker demonstrating the ability to successfully communicate, motivate, and direct the work of other staff on project and work tasks. 
  • Experience working collaboratively with a team and building lasting professional relationships. 
  • Clear and concise communication, both verbally and in writing. 
  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in project management to effectively manage a project from idea to implementation.
  • Experience managing a variety of tasks in various stages involving multiple stakeholders at various leadership levels.
  • Extensive experience working with the department’s internal integrated tax systems.
  • Knowledge of and experience interpreting and applying state and federal laws, regulations, rulings, and DOR administrative policies relating to Minnesota individual income tax, property tax refund, and withholding tax statutes.
  • Experience preparing project plans, system documentation, policies, and system operating procedures.
  • Experience identifying and analyzing problems, then researching and implementing innovative solutions.
  • Experience presenting ideas to a variety of audiences at various leadership levels.

Physical Requirements

Requires occasional moving of articles up to 20 pounds, such as boxes, accounting records, a laptop computer, and a portable printer.

Additional Requirements
