JOB TITLE

Quality Systems Intern
This is a full-time summer internship working fully onsite at our corporate headquarters in San Diego, CA.

Fate Therapeutics has an exciting internship opportunity in the Quality Assurance team. This position will provide hands-on experience in Quality Systems, with a focus on learning and actively contributing to a Learning Management System (LMS). The intern will report directly to the Senior Quality Systems Associate, gaining mentorship, project management experience, and opportunities for professional development. This role will involve working cross-functionally in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment. (GMP definition)

RESPONSIBILITIES

●  Help to lead project to implement improvements and close compliance gaps for Training Program at Fate Therapeutics.

●  Work with departments that perform/support GMP activities, including Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Manufacturing, Material Management, Facilities, iPSC Science & Manufacturing, and Molecular Engineering to develop training requirements

●  Assist with creating On-The-Job Trainings (OJTs) and Instructor-Led Trainings (ILTs) in ComplianceWire LMS.

●  Work cross-functionally with departments to develop new training curricula, assisting with initiating and accurately completing request forms

●  Assisting departments with the periodic review requirement to determine if revision or obsoletion is needed for their curricula.

●  Utilize and acquire proficiency in SharePoint system to build a form to be used for expedited requests.

●  Support, as needed, for other projects relating to Veeva system enhancements.

DESIRED MAJORS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS + SKILLS
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a scientific or business field.
• Proficient use of technology with a demonstrated aptitude for quickly learning new systems.
• Works both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

YOUR INTERVIEW PROCESS

• Fate would like to host an interview day for local candidates who can attend in person. We will also hold virtual interviews, for those who are at schools outside SD in the Spring
• Candidates will meet with the hiring teams either 1:1 or in small group meetings.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Subject to extended periods of sitting and standing, vision to monitor, and moderate noise levels.
• Onsite work at corporate headquarters in San Diego, CA.
