TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT INTERN -- 8 weeks, 40 hrs/week

The internship is looking for a highly motivated student seeking an 8-week internship program within the Technical Development Department of Avidity Biosciences on projects related to providing material for our Clinical Pipeline, which are all the products in development at Avidity. This position will review, gather, and organize process-related data supporting the mAb, siRNA, and Bioconjugate workstreams. The ideal candidate will is expected to be a quick learner who wants to learn about biochemical processing and process development and manufacturing in the Technical Development/CMC space. CMC is an acronym for chemistry, manufacturing, and controls which are crucial activities when developing new pharmaceutical products.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES
· Review and understand processes involved in the manufacture of our AOCs (Antibody–oligonucleotide conjugates)
Some knowledge of biochemical processes and unit operations such as bioreactors, chromatography, filtration
· Capability of understanding the importance of the data gathered and present/organize for ease of view and trending identification
· Attention to detail and reliability, highly organized and trustworthy to work with highly valuable assets.
· Interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and ability to work with other research team members.

DESIRED MAJORS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS + SKILLS
· College undergraduate in a Biological, Bio/Chemical Engineering Major

· Ability to multi-task well and work in a fast-paced environment
· Willingness to learn skills involved in a career in Technical Development/CMC/Supply Chain
· Experience and proficiency with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

Flexible work hours, up to 32 hours per week.
