Data Science Intern

The purpose of this Summer Internship Program is to provide each intern with a chance to assess a career interest in one or a variety of corporate functions and disciplines. 

• Understanding the business problem and identifying a data science solution for the same.
• Building predictive models using regression / classification methods on Databricks platform leveraging Python, Spark, Scala, SQL and other programming languages.
• Leveraging information contained in unstructured text data using NLP techniques to boost the performance of existing models. 
• Model optimization and model performance measurement.
• Making presentation of the model and its outcome to the stakeholders.

Required:

• Students pursuing a Bachelor's degree from an Accredited University.
• Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skill set.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong flexibility and adaptability skills.

Highly Preferred: 

• Would have completed at least 2 semesters of a Master’s degree program by 2024 summer in one of the relevant subjects, like Data Science, Advanced Analytics, Computer Science or any other related subject with strong academic credentials.
• Proficient with Python and its data science / machine learning libraries, Pandas, Spark etc.
• Knowledge and experience of Databricks platform will be a plus.
• Good understanding of Natural Language Processing and related Python libraries  and experience with LLMs will be preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; especially able to communicate technical solutions in a way that is easy to understand
