Technical Support Specialist I (JR-0000713)

Responsibilities

The Technical Support Specialist I will provide technical support and assistance in the Information Systems Office and throughout the AIDS Institute. Responsibilities will include resolution of technology issues; assisting staff in the use of software; providing technical support services to staff/end users, including in the use of productivity software; providing training on new applications, software and technologies; executing scripted solutions; onboarding new staff; requesting additional rights on behalf of employees; granting access to files and folders on shared storage resources; managing user accounts; deploying and moving computer and computer related equipment; and other appropriate duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and one year of experience providing technical support and assistance; OR an Associate’s degree in a related field and three years of such experience; OR five years of such experience. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Microsoft Office suite, Windows desktops, and laptops. Working knowledge of Microsoft network technologies. Installation, operation, and maintenance of video conference systems along with Zoom and WebEx.

 

Conditions of Employment

Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.

Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Travel, up to 25% of the time, will be required.


This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting will be available.
