Assistant Designer, Men's Underwear & Tees

Jockey is seeking an Assistant Designer, Men’s Underwear and Tees, to join our Design team!

The Assistant Designer, Men’s Underwear and Tees, is vital in providing support to the designers and plays an integral role in the design process.

This position will be located at our corporate headquarters in Kenosha, WI (between Chicago, IL and Milwaukee, WI area).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist with editing the set-up and creation of garment styles and Bills of Materials (BOMs) in the PLM system, under the direction of the Design lead.
  • Enhance garments seasonally by adding color to both garments and their BOMs in PLM systems, supporting the Design team in daily tasks.
  • Assist the Design team in compiling, organizing and preparing presentation materials for meetings.
  • Act as a reliable backup to the designers by updating tasks in the PLM system.
  • Organize, label and maintain design garment samples, ensuring their availability for meetings. Steam or press garments for presentation, as needed.
  • Ensure that all support tasks are completed according to critical path calendar dates.
  • Assist with documentation and tech pack creation.
  • Attend various department support meetings and product fittings, actively contributing to the design process.
  • Support the Design team by conducting market research to stay updated on industry trends and assist with creating comp-shop reports with direction from the Design lead.
  • Work in close collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance collaboration, build relationships and drive business growth.
  • Assist with the creation and updating of seasonal roadmaps and provide assistance with communication of color changes to cross-functional teams.
  • Manage multiple seasons simultaneously and effectively prioritize workloads based on calendars and seasonal timelines.
  • Assist with the creation of kits for artwork, the set-up of artwork in the PLM system and the gathering of feedback for strike-off approvals.
  • Assist with setting-up and creating supporting materials for accounts and internal presentations, which showcase the brand's vision.
  • Contribute to various projects as needed, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Take initiative and demonstrate a proactive attitude.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-2 years of design experience, preferably in men’s innerwear, showcasing knowledge of fabrics, trims and a solid understanding of the design process.
  • Bachelor’s degree in design or related field required.
  • Previous experience in design and/or product development.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of garment construction and fabrics.
  • Ability to illustrate and flat sketch, effectively communicating design concepts.
  • Exposure to developing presentation boards a plus.
  • Excellent organization, follow-through, detail orientation, multi-tasking and interpersonal skills required.
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
