Legal Assistant/Administrative Assistant

Legal Assistant works primarily with two partners in the firm. Legal Assistant will assist the partners with administrative tasks as well as preparation of invoices. Legal Assistant also will assist other attorneys and management with bookkeeping tasks. 

One partner practices international law, with a focus on international white-collar crime. This partner edits an international enforcement law journal, the International Enforcement Law Reporter (ielr.com). The Legal Assistant would assist with administrative tasks related to this journal. A second partner focuses on international law, especially economic sanctions, international trade, and international investment. 

This position is ideal for a candidate seeking a substantive entry-level position working for a law firm as an administrative assistant with acumen in billing and bookkeeping. This is not a typical entry-level legal assistant position: it requires a very high level of responsibility and initiative.

Applicant must live in the DC area or be willing to relocate.

Wage  $45,000.00 starting 

Job Qualifications

• College degree, strong academic credentials
• Strong organizational and administrative skills
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Basic knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles
• Computer and internet proficiency an absolute must
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
• Prior experience working as an administrative or bookkeeping assistant at a law firm helpful but not required
• Knowledge of Spanish preferred but not required.
