The San Diego County Office of Education is recruiting to fill one vacancy for Account Clerk II for the Retirement Reporting unit of the Business Services Division. 

Retirement Reporting is responsible for reporting monthly payroll information; processing forms for memberships, refunds, and retirements; and serving as the liaison for the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) and the California State Teachers Retirement System (CalSTRS) for all school districts, charter schools, and community college districts in San Diego County. 

Under general supervision, the Account Clerk II performs a variety of technical accounting-clerical tasks of average difficulty involved in maintaining, compiling, verifying financial, payroll, payment or statistical records, and auditing financial transactions for compliance with applicable codes, laws, and regulations. This position is full-time and will offer the classified benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage, and will participate in the CalPERS state retirement system.

Requirements / Qualifications

This position requires a combination of education and experience equivalent to two years of classroom or college-level instruction in basic accounting, bookkeeping or closely related field and/or accounting/bookkeeping experience. Payroll experience is highly desirable.

The results of this recruitment will be used to establish an eligibility list to fill the current vacancy and any other vacancies in this classification for the next six (6) months, or until the list is exhausted.
