Our medicinal chemistry team is seeking a motivated intern to work alongside our pioneering drug-hunting researchers.  As an intern you will develop technical competencies involved in progressing our Helicon™ drug modality.  This individual will work as part of a project team leveraging structure-activity and structure-property relationships to drive the optimization of lead molecules into drug candidates. In this role, you will: 

• Learn how to synthesize, purify, and characterize novel peptide drugs (Helicons ™) 
• Learn how to program and operate state of the art automated parallel peptide synthesizers
• Learn how to purify and analyze compounds before biological testing
• Learn fundamental synthetic design of peptides and their building blocks (natural and unnatural amino acids)
• Learn how to work in a team-based research project

DESIRED MAJORS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS + SKILLS

• Rising junior or above with strong understanding of Organic Chemistry and its application in laboratory settings.
• Capacity to execute multiple tasks independently.
• Superb organization, multi-tasking, communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of, and appreciation for, laboratory safety procedures.
• Enthusiasm to work in a dynamic research environment
