Graduate Assistant for Summer Online Teaching and Learning Program

1. Providing technical support: Assisting faculty in navigating the new Blackboard Ultra platform, troubleshooting technical issues, and answering questions related to its functionalities.

2.  Training and onboarding: Assist with training sessions for faculty and staff on how to use Blackboard Ultra effectively, including creating and managing course content, engaging students, and utilizing assessment tools.

3. Course development assistance: Collaborating with faculty to redesign and adapt course materials for the Blackboard Ultra environment, ensuring that they are optimized for online delivery and student engagement.

4. Testing and evaluation: Participating in testing and evaluation processes to identify any issues or areas for improvement in the Blackboard Ultra platform, providing feedback to administrators and developers as needed.

Overall, the graduate assistants will serve as valuable resources and support systems for faculty and departments as they transition to and navigate the new Blackboard Ultra platform during the Summer Online Teaching and Learning program.

 

Required:

  • Must be enrolled in at least 3 credit hrs in Summer School at AAMU
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

Preferred Skills 

  1. Enrollment in a graduate program at our institution
  2. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  3. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  4. Proficiency in using online learning platforms or willingness to learn.
  5. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  6. Demonstrated knowledge or interest in educational technology and online teaching methodologies.
  7. Availability to work during the summer session, with flexible hours as needed.
  8. Prior experience in teaching, tutoring, or instructional support preferred, but not required.
