Editorial Intern
Interested in gaining experience in writing and publishing? Wainscot Media is seeking bright and enthusiastic editorial interns for its regional and national custom magazines. This is a great way to strengthen your resume, obtain recommendations and have fun while learning in a fast-paced environment.
Successful candidates will thrive in a deadline-driven but friendly environment. Interns should be quick learners and have the ability to think logically. Key attributes are a creative way with words, clever turns of phrase, and superior copy editing and organizational skills. The position offers the opportunity to write, report on, research and fact-check items from a range of topics including health, lifestyle, high-end fashion and real estate, interior design, luxury automotive and more.
Interns will report to the Editor in Chief.
Must be comfortable with computers, including Microsoft Office and Adobe InDesign programs. Familiarity with Mac OS preferred. Work will also include:
- Participate in editorial meetings with Editor in Chief and staff to discuss ideas and work status for all departments and features
- Â Proofread pages for each issue in InDesign
- Write, edit and produce departments, including events and sourcing, and other features
- Answer readers’ queries
- Assist other editors with projects
