In this role you will, assist in conducting hazard analyses and engineering assessments to design risk mitigation strategies throughout system and facility acquisition life cycle.

Assist in advising on system and facility safety requirements based on historical and anecdotal failure data, software failure analysis, and failure mode analysis.

Assist in the design of protective equipment and safety devices, and redesign equipment to control hazards.

Review engineering plans and specifications to design system modifications to improve life cycle safety considerations.

Assist in the identification and evaluation of human factors data for consideration in systems design.

Communicate hazards, hazard analyses, risk assessments, and control measures in writing and speaking to diverse audiences of various sizes.

Track progress in implementing hazard controls, evaluating controls at appropriate intervals once installed to confirm that controls are, and remain, effective.

Assist in the design of surface and weapon danger zones for range operations.
