Assistant Designer, Color & Print

Jockey is seeking an Assistant Designer, Color & Print, to join our Design team!

 

The Assistant Designer, Color & Print, will support the Design team to help update original seasonal prints and patterns across multiple categories. This role will work with prints and patterns, color assortments, visual communication tools and will also complete system work.

 

This position will be located at our corporate headquarters in Kenosha, WI (between Chicago, IL and Milwaukee, WI area).

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Support the team in research for seasonal print concepts.
  • Assist in updating seasonal prints, patterns and graphics.
  • Render prints in multiple colorways based on seasonal palettes.
  • Help the team by updating repeats of patterns and clean artwork.
  • Create and update “companion” prints.
  • Assist in updating factory-ready print and graphic artwork.
  • Assist in creating seasonal tools for designers and merchandising partners, including print kit templates and organizing/updating digital color palettes.
  • Prepare CAD printouts/boards and set-up for presentations.
  • Responsible for capturing detailed notes for meetings and competitive shopping trips.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to build and grow businesses.
  • Assist the team in balancing multiple seasons at once.
  • Support the team by updating artwork files and kits/pitch sheets for artwork. 
  • Update artwork in PLM system.
  • Assist in commenting on strike-off approvals.
  • Assist in organization and management of color and print libraries.
  • Assist in ordering seasonal color tools.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in art, design or related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in the textile and/or graphics industry.
  • Excellent organizational, follow-through, detail orientation, multi-tasking and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to prioritize own work schedule and communicate roadblocks.
  • Strong sense of color.
  • Team player with positive outlook; comfortable working with multiple functional areas.
  • Artistic ability with hand sketching and painting skills.
  • Understanding of woven designs.
