Public Utilities Regulatory Analyst I (JC-430138)

The Energy Cost of Service & Natural Gas (ECOS) Branch within the Public Advocates Office is seeking a Public Utilities Regulatory Analyst I to join its Revenue Requirements team.

Under the supervision of the Program and Project Supervisor of the Revenue Requirements Section, the incumbent is responsible for representing ratepayer interests on issues pertaining to the appropriate revenue requirement and rates associated with CPUC-regulated gas and electric utilities in General Rate Cases and other rate setting cases. The incumbent’s primary assignments are analyzing utility proposals, examining utility accounting practices and recorded costs, forecasting data, and making appropriate recommendations. The incumbent will conduct research, write reports, testify in CPUC proceedings, coordinate with project teams, may assist in presentations with the direction of higher level staff, and perform other job-related work as required

The PURA I is the training and development level. The incumbent is generally learning to apply their skills in the context of Commission operations. Incumbents usually serve as a team member under the direction of higher-level staff.

This position requires travel.
