Full-Time IT Service Desk Technician

The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking a full-time, customer service oriented, IT Service Desk Technician to install, configure, upgrade, secure, and troubleshoot software and hardware on Windows and Linux.

 

This position is on-site at our North Logan facility and non-remote.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide friendly, accurate, and dependable support to SDL employees with a focus on customer satisfaction
  • Manage user accounts, password changes, and track hardware assets
  • Create and update online support documentation and identify areas of improvement
  • Aid, assist, and guide part-time, student technicians and provide additional IT related support to SDL employees
  • Document all online, telephone, and in-person customer service requests and interactions

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Must be a US Citizen, Lawful Permanent Resident, or other US Person
  • Ability and desire to continue learning new skills as system needs grow and change
  • Excellent, customer service-focused written and verbal communication
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Reliable and detail-oriented
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with troubleshooting computer hardware and software
  • Able to work 40 hours per week (Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM)

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Have a computer related degree 
  • CompTIA A+ certification
  • CompTIA Security+ CE certification
  • CompTIA Linux+ certification
  • Knowledge of Linux environments such as CentOS, RHEL, and Ubuntu 
  • Comfortable with procedure documentation
