Health Research, Inc. Job Description:

Responsibilities

The Administrative Aide will provide administrative support to the Bureau of Cancer Epidemiology/NYS Cancer Registry. Specific duties will include: maintaining, updating and assisting to develop tracking tools; providing administrative support for Bureau planning logistics which includes making arrangements for meetings, conference calls, etc.; screening telephone calls and referring callers and responding to inquiries as appropriate for the Cancer Registry and other areas of the Division as needed; scheduling, registration, and dissemination of materials for the legislatively mandated Certified Tumor Registrar trainings; handling of the annual Lab Followback mailings, including postage and material procurement, production, organization, mailing, tracking and proper documentation of responses in CERTS; maintaining systems and methods; and perform other appropriate related duties.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and one year of general office, secretarial, or administrative experience; OR three years of such experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with e-mail systems, including Outlook, and electronic calendars. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point. Experience coordinating large meetings, conferences, or other events. Experience with travel and purchasing. Experience interacting with internal and external stakeholders. Experience with financial systems. Experience serving as a liaison to staff.

Conditions of Employment

Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.

Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.


This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting will be available.
