Business Development Fellow

This fellowship is hosted by the Constellations Fellowship Program.

There are a total of 35+ fellowships available through the Summer 2024 Constellations Fellowship Program. These are virtual, part-time fellowships that will run 12-14 weeks, starting roughly June 17th and running until September 6th, depending on the needs of the host organization. Fellows will be awarded a $1,000 stipend upon the completion of their fellowship.

Business Development Fellow

 

About the host organization: 

Wastezon is a social enterprise on a mission to create a waste-free, digitally inclusive world. Using AI-driven Materials Engineering Technology, Wastezon sources and refurbishes e-waste into quality-vetted, low-cost refurbished devices for consumers and secondary raw materials for manufacturers. Since 2021, we have recovered over 500 tons of e-waste materials, impacting over 3500 households in Rwanda.

 

Position Description: 

As we scale our products and business offerings, we seek a Business Development Fellow to work closely with the CEO to develop business strategies that align with our mission of creating a waste-free world. The Fellow will work with the CEO and other executive team members to collect industry insights and develop business strategies and their relevant roadmaps that allow the company to achieve the desired success.

Responsibilities:

Coordinating with the executive team to write and develop business proposals and identify and build business partnerships in alignment with proposed initiatives.
Leveraging internal and external business data to develop business opportunities, including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products, and services.
Conduct strategies performance analysis and liaise with the team to develop relevant solutions.
Maintaining and sharing professional knowledge through education, networking, events, and presentations.

 

Desired Qualifications: 

0-2 years of experience in business development, market research, business strategies, or other similar fields
Bachelor's degree in business management, marketing or a related field (Year 3-4 undergraduate students are also accepted).
Exposure to analytical and reporting tools, including Tableau, Google spreadsheets, Google Analytics, and Data Studio.
Good communication skills and people management experience.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.

 

Time Commitment:  25 Hours/week
