School Aide/School Monitor and Substitute School Aide/School Monitor (PT) - Port Jefferson Station, NY

POSITION:                 School Aide/School Monitor-Enrichment “Counselor” and Substitute School Aide/School Monitor-Enrichment “Counselor” (PT) – Port Jefferson Station

SITE/BUILIDING:      Boyle Road Elementary School

Clinton Avenue Elementary School

Norwood Avenue Elementary School

Terryville Elementary School

LOCATION:               Port Jefferson Station, NY

HOURS:                     Monday - Friday, September - June

                                    Range between 6:45 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. daily for morning session

                                      Range between 2:15 p.m. - 6:15 p.m. daily for afternoon session

 

   ***  Applicants may apply for either the morning or afternoon session depending on their availability     ***

(Most shifts are two (2) hours; additional hours may be available)

                                                                        

 QUALIFICATIONS:              

  • High School Diploma
  • Demonstrate commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment    

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist teachers in facilitating the homework/reading period (afternoon session)
  • Coordinate and facilitate special activities and projects
  • Monitor students to provide adequate supervision and a safe environment in a variety of activities and recreational areas; including following health and safety guidelines outlined by the district
  • Provide on-going communication with program teacher and ESBOCES School Year Enrichment Teacher Coordinator
  • May also facilitate weekly clubs or enrichment activities for additional hours (per diem)

START DATE:           September 4, 2024

SALARY:                   $17.00/hour (when school is in session)
