Adult Education CTE: Driver Rehabilitation Specialist

POSITION:                 Adult Education CTE:  Driver Rehabilitation Specialist (PT – Day/Evening) 

SITE/BUILDING:       Milliken Technical Center,  Oakdale, NY 

QUALIFICATIONS:              

  • Three (3) years of experience providing driver rehabilitation service to individuals with disabilities
  • NYS driver license with acceptable record and permanent MV-283 certificate required
  • Experience as a NYS Certified Driver Education Teacher or NYS DMV approved Driver Education Teacher
  • Demonstrate commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide driving instruction to participants on how to operate a vehicle safely, including the utilization of adaptive equipment and addressing disability related limitations
  • Communicate with ACCES-VR and community-based organizations to support the needs of clients
  • Schedule evaluation and training appointments
  • Maintain client and vehicle usage logs
  • Maintain confidential student files, complete with written reports and required documentation
  • Schedule and transport vehicles for needed maintenance and repairs 

START DATE:           January 6, 2025 

SALARY:                   $55.00/hour
